Test, don't guess

Your symptoms are real. Let's look at the whole picture.

“Normal labs” and “I feel terrible” can both be true at the same time. We start with your history and symptoms, then use thoughtful testing where it can help us understand what's happening and build a clearer path forward.

See how we begin

It starts with being heard

Every client begins with a 90-minute deep dive. We go through your full history, your symptoms, and your goals, and I take the time to understand the whole picture before I recommend anything, the opposite of a rushed, 15-minute visit where you feel like a set of boxes being checked.

You know your body better than anyone. My job is to listen to what it's telling you, add the data where it helps, and build the path from there.

The whole picture

Hormones matter. They're rarely the whole story.

I look at your hormones alongside gut health, blood sugar, nutrition, stress, sleep, and your own history, because these systems interact. Which of them matters most, and in what order, depends on you.

How functional lab testing fits

Anyone can order a test. A kit in the mail isn't the hard part, and it isn't where the value is. The value is in the read: what your results mean in the context of your symptoms, and the plan that comes from them.

So I don't hand you a report and leave you alone with it. I choose testing thoughtfully, for the question it's meant to help answer, then interpret it in plain language, connect it to what you're feeling, and build a plan from what's actually there.

What we may test

Chosen for the question it's meant to answer

GI MAP

Your gut

A stool test that maps the bacteria, imbalances, and inflammation markers in your digestive tract, and how well you're breaking food down. Often a helpful starting point when gut symptoms are part of the picture.

MRT-176

Your food reactivity

A blood test that measures immune responses to a range of foods and food chemicals. When appropriate, I use it as one piece of information to help guide a more targeted approach to food rather than relying on broad restriction alone.

Functional Blood Chemistry

Your metabolic & thyroid picture

A broader look at blood markers related to blood sugar and metabolism, thyroid function, inflammation, iron, and nutrient status. I interpret the results alongside your history, symptoms, and other relevant information.

DUTCH Complete

Your hormones & cortisol

A dried urine test that can show your cortisol rhythm across the day, how your liver metabolizes estrogen, and your hormone metabolites. I'll always tell you its limits: it isn't FDA-cleared, and I read it alongside your symptoms and other labs, never on its own.

These are some of the labs I use most often. Your testing is chosen based on your history, symptoms, goals, and what we're trying to understand, not from a predetermined list.

How virtual care works

Real functional care, without the commute.

I work with women in California and nationwide, entirely online, with unhurried video visits, at-home lab kits when appropriate, results reviews, and messaging support between sessions.

01

We meet by video

Your deep dive, results review, and check-ins all happen over Zoom, from wherever you are.

02

Your labs come to you

Test kits ship to your home. You complete them there and mail them back; results take about two weeks.

03

We stay in touch

Messaging access between sessions, so you're never left alone with a plan and a question.

How this approach is different

Quick telehealth platforms have their place, but they tend to work one way: a short visit, a default toward a single fix, and not much after. This is different in three ways that matter.

Time

A 90-minute first visit, not 15 minutes.

Sequence

We look beyond hormones alone. Gut health, blood sugar, nutrition, stress, and sleep are considered alongside your hormone picture, so the plan reflects the whole person.

Staying power

Structured check-ins and messaging across the whole arc, so the plan gets adjusted as your body responds instead of handed over once and forgotten.

Ways to begin

You don't have to commit to a full program to get real data.

Peri & Post Menopause Program

When your picture calls for a more complete workup, testing across gut, food, blood, and hormones lives inside the program, along with the protocol and ongoing support. Labs are part of the program, passed through at cost — never sold à la carte or marked up.

Learn about the program

No single test tells the whole story, and I'll never claim one does. Functional labs are most useful when they're read together and read in context, alongside your history and how you feel. That's the difference between data and answers.
