Why does it feel like my body is betraying me?

You are tired in a way that sleep does not fix, the weight will not move the way it used to, your sleep broke somewhere along the line, and the people you have asked keep telling you this is just what your forties and fifties look like.

It is not. There are real, measurable things happening in a midlife body, and most of them are worth doing something about.

I send occasional notes about hormones, gut health and feeling like yourself again in midlife. Unsubscribe any time, and I will not share your address with anyone.

Heather Bedient

I am Heather Bedient, a nutritional therapy practitioner in Pacifica, California, and I work with women in their forties, fifties and sixties who have been told their labs are fine and know perfectly well that something is off.

I trained in Chinese medicine first and in functional nutrition after that, and both taught me the same thing. The answer is almost always further upstream than where we started looking.
